Fight for $15
Last week, the grassroots effort to raise the minimum wage to $15 in Tucson filed their petition signatures, almost twice the number necessary to place the measure on the November ballot. I applaud their tenacity and their desire to improve the lives of working families.
As housing prices, rent, and utility payments all rise, as many as 85,000 Tucsonans make less than $15 per hour. This includes a large number of workers in child care and home healthcare. I fully support this initiative and have been working to get the word out to voters during my campaign.
With only 4 weeks left until the Primary Election on August 3rd, I still need your help!
Come by 1609 E. Spring Street this Saturday, July 10, at 8:30 am to pick up a targeted walk list and handouts. Or make arrangements to pick up at another time, such as tonight’s Volunteer Appreciation Party, 6-8 pm at 1609 E. Spring St. Come meet great people, and enjoy beverages and food, including Eegee’s drinks and sandwiches. All supporters and friends are welcome!
