An Assault on Women’s Rights

This week’s newsletter is dedicated to the righteous outrage over the recently enacted near-total abortion ban in Texas. The law, which is the most restrictive in the country, is an unprecedented assault on women’s constitutional and reproductive rights. It will especially (and disproportionately) impact low-income and marginalized communities.

In her blistering dissent, Supreme Court Justice Sotomayor called out the despicable actions of the Texas legislature and the flaming cowardice of her five colleagues on the Supreme Court who refused to stay the implementation of the law.

While abortion rights may not be a current City Council issue, it is imperative that we elect pro-choice candidates at all levels of government – from school board to Justice of the Peace to City Council. All elections matter. Abortion rights are human rights.

The campaign team is walking every Saturday morning. Going door to door and engaging people in the political process is the work we need to do to protect human rights and the planet. Ballots are mailed out October 6 – less than a month away! Please help my campaign by donating a couple hours of your time to help us reach Tucson voters.

Please join us this Saturday, 9/11, at 9 a.m. for canvassing. We'll meet at 1609 E. Spring St. where you can pick up materials. Want to canvass, but can't make it Saturday? Email me (Info@KevinDahl4Tucson.com) and we'll coordinate another time for you to pick up a list.
